PHOTOGRAPHY

My passion for photography emerged early in childhood. My dad, an enthusiastic hobby photographer, inspired me to pick up the camera at the age of 6. I fondly remember early morning wake-up calls, and together on my dad’s motorbike, we’d explore beautiful destinations and capture the scenery in the crisp morning rays. Many weekends were spent in the darkroom (i.e. the temporarily converted family bathroom), developing black and white photographs.

During high school, I took formal photography classes. Despite my teacher’s advice to pursue a career in photography, I decided against it out of a fear of losing my passion for the hobby. Since then, I’ve continued to enroll in photography classes and I am currently studying at the New York Institute of Photography to obtain my official certification. I take pictures at every opportunity and my work now decorates my own home and the homes of many friends and family.

Now a mother of two, I’ve reincorporated this life-long passion for photography into my career. I now photograph families, newborns, children's birthdays and other special occasions as well as individual, corporate or school portraits. Please contact me for more information.

For me photography is an art of observation. I live for the in between moments… the loud, the quiet, the imperfectly perfect. Those are the ones that tell a person's story. So I make it my goal to find something interesting in an ordinary place or situation - the small details in nature, the interactions between people. There are so many beautiful little details - raw emotions, pure expressions and intimate moments - that so often go unnoticed in our busy lives. Being able to capture those and preserve them forever drives my passion for photography!

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
