CROSSFIT KIDS

As the mother of two young boys, I understand the importance – and the challenge – of ensuring that children develop a healthy lifestyle early on.

"I feel privileged to have grown up in a very active family, which laid the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and my love for exercise. I am passionate about getting kids involved in an active lifestyle from a young age, and I feel a strong sense of responsibility to play a part in creating a healthier future for our kids and the next generation."

I have been involved in sports and fitness my entire life. Even in my corporate career, I held senior marketing positions for such major global sports brands, such as Virgin Active and Adidas. Four years ago, I fell in love with CrossFit – so much so that I trained throughout both pregnancies. I firmly believe that the CrossFit lifestyle is a key component in the overall well-being of adults and children. Following my passion for fitness and family, I became a certified CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Kids coach in 2017 and now lead the CrossFit Kids program at Crossfit Armed in Miami.

ABOUT CROSSFIT KIDS

I currently run the CrossFit Kids program at CrossFit Armed, which uses specific training methods designed to increase coordination, flexibility, strength, and agility for children in a non-threatening environment where “fun” is the key ingredient.

The curriculum creates a physical learning environment that builds on each child’s unique abilities. Children need to be challenged at their own individual levels in order for effective progress to take place.

CrossFit Kids workouts are similar to all CrossFit style regimes, but, they take into account a child’s natural propensity to move constantly by relying on various exercises that change constantly. Each WOD (“Workout of the Day”) includes a time component during which each child moves quickly from one exercise to the next, creating the necessary intensity to achieve his or her fitness goals. Exercises designed specifically for each child create aerobic and anaerobic work capacity, which in turn increase endurance, stamina, and confidence while improving physical and mental health.

The CrossFit Armed Kids program teaches children of all ages the proper form and technique through basic movements and exercises. As each child’s coordination, strength, and overall conditioning increase, so does their potential for enhanced neurological and cognitive motor skills.

My classes include skill practice, workouts, games and information about healthier lifestyle choices. Children will progress through a series of levels as they gain athletic abilities. Parents typically notice their children becoming more focused at school and better able to transition into sports because of their enhanced athletic skills.
